Sonakshi Sinha starrer film Akira has performed decently at the first weekend domestic Box-office. The film received mixed reviews from the critics but, carried a positive word of mouth from the viewers. The action drama raked in Rs. 5.15 crores on Friday, Rs. 5.30 crores on Saturday and Rs. 6.20 crores on Sunday. Hence, the first weekend total collection stands at Rs. 16.65 crores at the domestic front.
A. R. Murugadoss’s directorial film needs to remain stable during the week days so as to get a strong total. Akira is a tale of a girl who is dragged wrongly in a scandal by the corrupt Police, she fights them back all alone to prove her innocence.
