This time Dharma Production decided to take the road less travelled by designing ' Gippi ', a film of different genre without any A-list star cast. This time Karan Johar landed up with a film stuffed with strong content and a motivating message. Apart from all this, ' Gippi ' failed to bag a big hurrah from the audience on its first day of release. The theatre occupancy for ' Gippi ' was just about 10 to 15% on Friday.

In metros, Sonam Nair 's directorial venture ' Gippi ' attained an average response in multiplexes. Other than metros, the film incurred a very poor response from the masses in the other parts of India. In order to proceed further even with its registration, ' Gippi ' has to travel a long way. Observing the response the movie got on its first day, it seems that the film falls under a non-started category.

Though the amount collected by ' Gippi ' on Friday are not known exactly, the movie should garner at least 1 crore nett on its first day to survive in the oasis of big budget films at the box-office.

The factors behind hindering success of ' Gippi ' at the box-office might be the zombie-flick ' Go Goa Gone ', which released on the same day as ' Gippi '. The other probable reason may be the film is devoid of any famous B-Town celebs.

The weekend collection of ' Gippi ' will pave the way for its future success or failure at the box-office.
