First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Gippi'
'Gippi' released on May 10 and witnessed a very slow hike in numbers during weekends. In order to endure in the rat race of hit films, 'Gippi' has to do a better business at the ticket window.
'Gippi' saw a sluggish start at the box-office, even though the film bagged praises in some quarters. The probable elements for 'Gippi' not crawling upto the expected mark of success might include the film is sans any powerful star cast and it might be facing tough competition from the other release 'Go Goa Gone', which showcased on the big screen on the same day as 'Gippi'.
On Friday, 'Gippi' observed 75 lakhs, while on Saturday, the film did business of 95 lakhs. The movie saw comparatively pleasing amount on Sunday, which was 1.20 crore nett. The figures are given by considering early estimates. 'Gippi' climbed the mountain of 3 crore nett over the weekend.
It was essential for the movie to earn at least 5 crore nett over the weekend, if 'Gippi' wish to enjoy lifetime business of at least 8-10 crore nett. Unluckily, now the film has fallen into category of 5-6 crore nett lifetime trade.
