India's first medical thriller, ' Ankur Arora Murder Case ' proved flop at the box office despite having a good content and important burning subject. The film garnered positive to mixed reviews from the critics, but due to lacking entertainment quotient in the movie, it failed to woo the audience in the theatres. The film faced a tough competition from ' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ' and 'Man Of Steel'.
' Ankur Arora Murder Case ' can be set as a good example of how boring promos and low marketing can kill even a good film with a strong story and social message. The film which speaks about medical negligence was produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Suhail Tatari . The film had talented actors like Tisca Chopra , Kay Kay Menon , Vishakha Singh , Paoli Dam , Arjun Mathur and Vishesh Tiwari . The film managed to collect 50 lakh nett over the weekend which makes the total collection of the movie only 1 cr nett. The film was made in 6cr of budget and could not even recover its production amount. The film proved to be a disaster for its makers who wanted create some awareness among the masses with their film.
