First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Dhoom 3'

The lull before the hurricane ended and Vijay Krishna Acharya 's directorial masterpiece ' Dhoom 3 ' scorched the screens on December 20. The action-thriller full of twists and turns set the box office on fire by collecting whopping 36 crore on its opening day, as we reported earlier. 20 crore was the film's overseas Friday collection. And the fast-paced film was riding high towards 100 crore first weekend.

As per the latest reports, ' Dhoom 3 ' garnered 31.25 crore nett on Saturday and the total domestic collection of the film including all languages on day two was 33.36 crore nett. It got 20 to 22 crore nett in overseas market, thereby making Saturday overseas collection of the film over 40 crore. There was a little slow down on day three in the regions like Bihar, NCR and UP. However, the film maintained its speed in Mumbai and Rajasthan. Although it received mixed response, the film sailed well throughout the day. Going by the early trend on Sunday, this pacy-action-saga was running in packed cinema halls and kept the cash registers ringing throughout the day, although the multiplexes had 14-15 shows of the film.

' Dhoom 3 ' proved its calibre and has broken the records of the blockbusters till now, in terms of advance online booking as well as domestic and international box office collection. The film is expected to collect around 33.25 crore nett on Sunday, thereby making the total domestic first weekend box office collection up to 102.83 crore. The chances are higher that film will earn 95-96 crore in Hindi language. Now, the first week box office collection of the movie will pave the way for its record-breaking success.
