First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Madras Cafe'
Shoojit Sircar directed political-thriller \'Madras Cafe\' collected approximately 9 crores over its first weekend. The movie based on sensitive topic drew several cinema-goers.
Looks like it's a movie fare, which is a good enough one for the movie buffs all around the nation. With the record breaking super fast express 'Chennai Express' is still surpassing the limitations, it was the time for ''Khiladi Kumar'' Akshay Kumar to entertain us 'dobaara!'. Well, what if Akshay kept us waiting for a consecutive hit there was someone, who was well prepared to lure our expectations.
We are talking none other than the next action hero of the industry, the gen next muscle hunk and then topper in the Asia's most desirable, John Abraham. John was all geared up with his next fictional reality action packed political thriller 'Madras Cafe'. As this directorial endeavor by Shoojit Sircar was crawling for its release, there were hell lot of controversies surrounded to it, all for its sensitive subject line. But, still somehow the flick proved its best hitting the screens worldwide.
As the shutters of this 'Cafe' went wide open to serve the viewers, it was all reserved in a fraction of time. Being a niche genre, the target audiences were very well decided. Merely, it was John who proved his best in pulling the masses of all generations to the theaters. As predicted by trade analysts, the first day went on pretty well for the flick collecting approximately 5.17 crores. But as the weekend neared with Saturday, the collections boosted with approximately 7.25 crores, which was good enough for this realistic fictional drama.
However, as the reviews catered news columns as well as showcased on digital media, the positive outputs about actors John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri turned few more heads towards the screens. Finally, as the deserved holiday Sunday arrived, the box office saw a diverse scenario with all the cinema-goers mocking the screens, deposited around 9 more crores into its kitty.
As the domestic gathering accumulated around 21.42 crores approximately, the overseas figures remained not that interesting with a cumulative 4.50 crores, as per the sources. Nevertheless, the movie has managed itself to deliver a satisfactory result with a canned worldwide collection of 25.92 crores. The film is accordingly predicted to do some more noticeable contribution at the box office in near future.
