October takes a decent start; earns Rs. 5.04 on opening day
Presented as an unusual love story, October stars Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu in lead roles.
After a long wait, Varun Dhawan's much-awaited film October released in theatres yesterday. Critics lauded the film and raved Dhawan for his moving performance in it. Since October has a niche appeal and does not really rely on commercial ingredients, a massive opening was never expected. The movie made Rs. 5.04 crores on day one. Though these are the lowest number for a Varun Dhawan starrer, the earning is decent enough if we keep the subject and target audience of the film in mind.
October is expected to perform better on Saturday and Sunday. The word of mouth is positive for the film and the same might translate into good footfalls over the weekend. But having said that, it is certain that the film is not going to shatter any box office record held by previous films of Varun Dhawan.
