We cannot say that Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s ‘ Padmaavat ’ enjoyed the benefit of the extended weekend. But yes, even after the big ban in major states, the film has performed exceptionally well. Till Sunday, the magnum opus managed to pocket Rs. 114 crores and on its first Monday, it passed the crucial test and earned 15 crores. After 5 days and the preview shows, the movie is standing strong with a total of Rs. 129 crores. The pre and post-production cost of the movie went around Rs. 215 crores and so far, which means that the film has managed to collect 60 % of its total cost.
Interestingly, besides India, the movie is also doing well in all the English speaking countries. In just 2 days, the film in UK, Australia, and New Zealand raked in 18-19 crores. But the collections of the USA are just beyond amazing. After the first weekend, ‘Padmaavat’ in the US did a record-breaking business of Rs. 31.71 crores and the worldwide business of the film has reached to Rs. 196.84 crores.
Starring Shahid Kapoor , Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh , the movie is yet to release in our neighboring country, China.
