Sanjay Gupta Biography

Sanjay Gupta is a producer-director and writer of Indian Cinema. He is majorly known for his movie 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' (2007) and 'Kaante' (2002). The protagonists of his movies have mostly been gangsters and crooks. Sanjay was born in Mumbai to a family with business background. He did his schooling from Palm Beach School, Mumbai and studied at Sydenham College, Churchgate. Sanjay has directed films like 'Hamesha' (1997),'Khauff' (2000),'Plan' (2004),'Musafir'(2004),'Dus Kahaniyaan' (2007). He is known to get a different composer for each song of his movie.

He is a close Pal of Sanjay Dutt, whom he had cast in various movies. They together formed a Production house 'White Feather Films' which has produced and distributed most of his movies. He has been allegedly blamed that his films have been inspired from Hollywood and other foreign movies but Gupta deny such allegations. Gupta's next venture is 'Shootout at Wadala' a crime drama, starring a big star cast like John Abraham,Anil Kapoor,Kangna Ranaut and Tusshar Kapoor. The movie is co-produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is a prequel to 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' is based on the first registered encounter of Mumbai Police which took place at Wadala where gangster Manya Surve was shot to death.
