Shilpa Shirodkar is the Bollywood actress that hails from Mumbai. She was born on 20th November, 1969 in Mumbai in an elite family. She is the granddaughter of popular Marathi actress, Meenakshi Shirodkar, who starred in the film 'Brahmachari' and stunned as the first Indian actress to appear in swimsuit on-screen.
Shilpa and her younger sister Namrata Shirodkar together jetted off their career in the glam world. But Shilpa headed towards Bollywood, while Namrata went on to explore her progress in modeling. She debuted in Bollywood in 1989 with 'Bhrashtachar'. Her second film was opposite Anil Kapoor, in the blockbuster hit 'Kishan Kanhaiya'. Her drenched saree look in the film is still fondly remembered her fans. She has been part of many hit films like 'Trinetra', 'Dil Hi To Hai', 'Aankhen', 'Pehchaan', 'Gopi Kishan', 'Bewafa Sanam', 'Chhoti Bahoo', 'Khuda Gawah' and 'Mrityudand'. She appeared last on silver screen in the year 2000 film 'Gaja Gamini'.
After being concluded with her professional life, she switched to her personal life by marrying Aparesh Ranjit on July 8, 2000 in Mumbai. After marriage she settled down to London, due to her husband's work commitment. The couple were parented with a daughter named Anushka, in 2003.
Shilpa is storming towards her comeback on-screen through a television medium in ZEE TV's upcoming serial, 'Ek Muthi Aasman'. Because of her shooting commitments, she has landed back to India.
