Plot

2 people could meet ANYWHERE. In a taxi on a rainy day  or in New York day, at the neighborhood inn, or in a line waiting to use the ATM Machine, or on an airplane, or deep sea headlong, or in the center of an earth quake, or sitting on that well-known bench at the Taj Mahal or standing beneath the Pyramids in Egypt. You can meet somebody in the most ordinary of conditions or in the most unusual ones. Akash and Kiara meet. But they meet in a condition as strange as no other.
But what if the 2 people who meet as unfamiliar person want to stay that way? They want to finish right where they began – as strangers.

This is the tale of 2 strangers on an odyssey of unearthing – down a path that is traversed with the beautiful pain and delight of falling in love, only they don't understand it.
A series of very funny misadventures draw their bi coastal road trip as they go about satisfying their last wishes. But then life breaks off, as is its custom; and aching choices must be made. The pair separate with the consideration that their days jointly were a brief interval of madness that had to give way to actual life.
They separate as they had met –i.e. as strangers. But can a shrouded love so odd between two strangers overcome the idiom of normalcy we all trust in. Is it significant another chance? Is it significant leaving at the rear all that is recognizable? Is it a love in time; is it truly the beginning they never expected? Go after Akash and Kiara, along this comical, up to date yet emotional journey of faltering into all that is worth living for.
Could you allow a stranger alter your life…. forever……

Anjaana Anjaani is a movie produced under the Sajid Nadiawala banner. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and it includes stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Zayed Khan etc The story is about, well no guesses - two strangers, Kiara i.e. Priyanaka Chopra who lives in San Francisco and Akash enacted by Ranbir Kapoor who lives in New York. Akash is basically an introvert. Unfortunately, both tired of certain upheavals in their respective lives decide to commit suicide. Kiara faces a failed relation while Akash a failed business. Both decide to bring their lives to an end by jumping off a bridge. Well as fate would have it, they both come to the bridge at the same time in order to end matters. But then, Akash stops Kiara from commiting suicide and asks her to accompany him to Vegas where they both can try and begin their life afresh, attaining their dreams. Kiara is initially hesitant but later agrees. And from there begins their journey to their destination….and they fall in love with each other only they don't realize it. The actors have played their part quite well. The dedication and effort put in by Ranbir is quite obvious. He plays the character of Akash with perfection while Priyanka is fabulous. She really manages to get into the skin of the character. Zayed Khan has done a cameo in the movie which is quite charming and pleasant. Tanvi Azmi too does a fantastic job. The music is by Vishal Shekhar is outstanding! The songs are soulful and can also connect with the masses at the same time. There are some songs like 'Aas Paas hai Khuda' sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan which really connect with your soul. The unplugged version of the song too is lovely! Then there is another song which does deserve a special mention because of its in depth appeal and innocence that is 'Tujhe Bhula Diya'. The background sore provided by the duo Salim – Sulaiman is not much but wherever it is, it is certainly effective and above its caliber. The music is able to compliment the situations and characters of the movie with befitting aptness. The script of the movie overall is ok. The script writer Mamta Anand along with the screen play writers Advaita Kala and Siddharth Anand has done a good job. It reserves the best scenes of the movie until the interval that when the story moves ahead to Las Vegas and San Francisco from New York. The journey is beautifully captured along with the emotions that come to the fore. Siddharth Anand is known for his direction and the sound sense of story that he has. He knows very well how to showcase the characters of his story to depict exactly what he wants. He deals with this topic with great éclat but, unfortunately there are some things missing in this movie from the point of view of direction. Hence it again scores an average in this too. The story moves very slowly in the first half, you may even feel it crawls. But, yes it does give you certain moments that you can take home or moments that will leave an impact on your minds. The scene where they both land up to commit suicide over the bridge is one such moment. Besides that, there is another scene in the sea, where the Anjaana and Anjaani go sailing but all of sudden decide to swim. The movie may not be rich in substance but on the whole it is quite appealing with its style and look. It takes you to some very exotic location in America making it simple magnificent and totally different from any other frame. The clothes in movie are trendy and suit the characters enacted. The dialogues of the movie are good. The movie would have done a better job if it were to release around Christmas season. The performance from the actors is good but besides that there is nothing else that is there in the movie to watch. It feels like a like mix of all earlier movies right from JAB WE MET to BADMASH COMPANY. It has a little bit of everything. The songs in the movie are the only reliever. But, if songs are the only thing then you could rather listen to the radio or get a CD for yourself. It fails to fascinate the audience. And hence overall, the movie is an average runner and can be watched for time pass.
