One Line Review: There is certainly not enough 'hotness', and if your expectations are high, it will 'kha jao' your time. Positive Points: Not a usually Bollywood type love story. Negative Points: Chemistry between the protagonists doesn't add up well; Rishi Kapoor's character unsuccessfully attempts to be funny; the story is not rewarding to the protagonists. Plot: Mohit Chaddha (Ayushman Khurana) is a successful marketing executive in a major airline company and is in relationship with Mayera Sehgal (Sonam Kapoor), who too is a successful career woman. Having a perfect life, Mohit faces only one hurdle; he has to convince Mr Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor), Mayra's father to let him marry his daughter. Mr Sehgal, who is a senior government servant, wants his daughter to marry a rich guy, given his reputation and higher social status. Now Mohit has to try his best to convince Mr Sehgal to understand that he is the 'Mr Right' for his daughter and he should let them marry. However, his perfect life transforms into a deep pit of stress and uncertainty when he loses his job as his company is laying off workers due to recession. Now Mohit has to hide the fact from his to-be-father in law and at the same time try to find out a way out of this lurch. Direction And Other Technical Aspects: The film is not your everyday Bollywood love story, but is a bit different and creative, yet bland and not so impressive. It could have been better with something that adds spice and a twist to the story, but doesn't live up to what one may have expected. So the direction here performs averagely as the film. Performances: Since Ayushman Khurana is not the 'new comer' anymore, he should have had put more soul into performing the character. However, all we see here is the same 'Vicky Arora' from 'Vicky Donor' only that he has been given a new life. Sonam Kapoor is plastic and bland as usual. Now this comes as a bad news as people may have expected much more. Rishi Kapoor's performance is strong as expected, but is lacks the power to make a big impact on the overall landscape of the film. Music: Music is just fine with love songs and party tracks in between. Final verdict: 'Bewakoofiyaan' is all about the usual story base of parental opposition to the love story of the protagonists, but tries to add in a flavor or humor and rush, but doesn't keep up. The story lacks certain strength and conviction as well the chemistry is missing, despite all the big love dialogues between Sonam and Ayushman. One may even feel that this one is an unconvincing love story and doesn't show up much of performance that could have been. 'Bewakoofiyaan' is an average romantic entertainer, which is nothing more than a one time watch film.
