The film takes a look at what happens after the last bullet is fired in a war and how families and relatives are left to cope up with the loss of their loved ones. Sanjay Suri is martyred in the Kargil war and leaves behind grieving parents,played by Om Puri, Revathy and his fianee Gul Panag. As each one of them copes up with the tragedy in their own way, they get the news that they have been allotted a petrol pump as part of the rehabilitation program. It is that the rigmorale starts as they discover that no department works without palms being greased. It is only Om Puri's gritty tancity that sees them win through to the end to get the petrol pump alottment.
