Plot

According to economists, human desires are unlimited. Even you may have realized this. No matter wherever you go you always have a desire to buy something or you always plan to buy something with your next payment. You fight this battle with your own self separating your desires from your needs.

Do Dooni Chaar is the story of such an individual- Santosh Duggal, who goes through this phase almost every day like you and me. He works as a teacher in a school and as such his payment is not much. Adding to his woes his family's needs are more than his pay cheque. But yet, they live as a happy middle class family in their Delhi paradise.

Then one day, enters Duggal's younger sister - 'Phupho' from Meerut. She invites them to a wedding ceremony at her in-laws place. But, also warns them to make sure that they come buy Car. Well, the glitch here is that- the Duggals don't own a car. Now what are they going to do? The solution as per Phupho is to 'buy one'.

Phupho's pride was at stake and that's the reason they couldn't opt for not going to the wedding. At the same time, if they have to go they need to have a car. All said, done and decided they begin to make arrangements for their very first major buy. The Provident Fund of Santosh Duggal is encashed, all piggy banks are emptied, loans are taken, the secret hiding place of every individual is emptied and new hiding places are found. Once that is done, it's the dawn of a new problem – not one individual is able to decide on any one factor of the car. The choice of each family member with regards to the color, brand and model of the car was drastically different. None of them seemed to compromise with anything. This is followed by a journey filled with madness and fun.

While all the resources and stuff is arranged, there is one major problem that is left untouched. And then there is the sudden appearance of a major temptation…what are the Duggal's going to do? Will they give in..or

Do Dooni Chaar will show you the reminiscences of your own life in family of Duggal's. It will give you an opportunity to laugh at yourself. It's a movie filled with loads of fun excitement and light heartwarming moments. It portrays the life of a middle class man and his attempts to catch up with the fast pace of the growing India.

In 1968 DO DOONI CHAAR was released which was a fun film. After so many years, once again DO DOONI CHAAR has been produced and this time again it was expected to be a fun film. But whether it is a fun film or serious film, you will come to know when you watch the film or read its review. The film DO DOONI CHAAR has been produced by Arindham Chaudhary who runs a management School in Bandra and has also produced some film like THE LAST LEAR one or two years back. The director of the film is Habib Faisal and the banner of the film is Plaanman Motion Pictures and Walt Disney. The cast of the film are Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Archit Krishna, Aditi Vasudev, Akhilendra Mishra, Supriya Shukla etc. Music is given by Meet Brothers, Anjaan. The story of the film is such: Santosh Duggal (Rishi Kapoor) is a teacher by profession. He lives in Delhi in DDA flat with his wife Kusum (Neetu Kapoor) and their two children Archit and Aditi. The rates of all goods have gone very high and the income remains the same so just like any other general Indian, Santosh too is always concerned and worried about the rates. But his wife doesn't get all necessary comforts so she always complains him about this. Their daughter Aditi spends too much money on unnecessary things. She is extravagant. She is stubborn too. Every time she demands for something new but her father doesn't earn so much money which can fulfill all her needs. Their son Archit is too modern and so are his thoughts. His modern thoughts many times make his family members uncomfortable and embarrassing. Despite all these things, Duggal family is running his family like any normal family. But things change when Santosh's younger sister enters into their family. Santosh's younger sister, who lived in Meerut, reaches their house to invite them on the occasion of her husband's younger brother's marriage. But she puts one condition before them that they have to reach in his marriage only in their car otherwise not. But this family doesn't have any car and doesn't have even money to buy a new car. So what would they do? How would they reach in the wedding ceremony? This is the only twist in the film. When the audience would watch the family hanging like pendulum whether to arrange a car or to leave attending the marriage ceremony then they may get smile on their lips. From here onwards manipulative scintillating begins to attend the marriage ceremony after purchasing a car. However, at the same time the family gets stuck in a mess due to this. How they turn out of the problem is the part what may tickle the audiences. Whether the family gets successful in buying a car and attends the party or not is query which makes the rest of the film. People today have reached the moon and they talk of winning the world yet today's real need is to fulfill yourself with three basic needs: bread, clothing and shelter. Though some people are spending a lot of money on reaching the sky and making shelter on moon, most of the people are struggling hard to live on the earth itself. They can't even dream of going on the moon and live there. This is the message which the director wants to give it to the audiences. Through this film, yesteryears hit pair Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh are seen in this film after a long gap of almost 30 years. The story of the film revolves around a family living in a metro Delhi. Rishi's Kapoor's performance is awesome. Once again he has proved why he is told as a great actor. Even Neetu Singh looks good and has performed very well. Rest of the cast have also done average job. Music of the film is average. Some songs are used at right places where they are required and would not make you feel unnecessarily placed. The script has been written well which incorporates several real life incidents with which many people can relate themselves to the incidents. The characters of the film are picked from real life people. Though this film is not as good as KHOSLA KA GHOSLA, it is not even bad. This is the director's debut film and can be said that he has tried to make a healthy film. The film is an average film which is neither boring nor very interesting or highly entertaining. There is no problem in watching this film if you have time and money.
