One Line Review: This medical thriller about anesthesia awareness is set on the right track, but fails to convince with below average performances and loopholes in the plot. Positive Points: A suitable plot with an unexpected twist; you are gonna like the music, Good direction by a debutant. Negative Points: Story has a couple of loopholes, Protagonist performance not at par; Film lacks the sophistication that could have been. Plot: Aditya Singh (Adhyayan Suman) is a rich businessman who lives a gloomy and sad life as he has lost his father in a freak accident in childhood and considers himself responsible for it. His mother (Deepti Naval) who handles all the business started by his father, is very possessive about her son and always looks after him as he has a rare heart disease. At a business party, he is smitten by Riya (Ariana Ayam) who is one of the hotel staff and also happens to be a translator. Soon, they are acquainted with each other and fall in deep love. On the other hand, his mother finds a heart donor in Mumbai and arranges for a heart transplant surgery, much against Aditya's will. However, after an argument with Riya, he changes his mind and decides to go to Mumbai to get surgery done from his friend Dr. Sameer Saxena (Shekhar Suman), much against the will of his mother who suggests Dr. Sanjay Trehan (Om Puri), to which he refuses and carries on with his decision. However, things take a shockingly unexpected and ugly turn. What has been thought as a life saving heart transplant, has become a procedure for death with something even brutally unexpected. Direction And Other Technical Aspects: Given that Shekhar Suman has tried his hands first time in direction, he fares well as a debutant. The direction is well above average and so is the cinematography, however, the plot fails to catch a hold of logic sometimes, such as why does the protagonist decide to go for Dr. Sameer Saxena instead of a much experienced Dr. Trehan? The biggest fault in plot is that it wastes the first one hour in all romance and stuff, which makes you wonder at the end, "so much only for this?" Performances: Protagonist performance wasn't much impressive and likeable, though it carries the film well. Ariana Ayam isn't too good in her debut, although both could have made it much better. Deepti Naval who is a peripheral character, puts up a strong performance as usual and so do Shekhar Suman and Om Puri. The overall performance is good, but the protagonists could have delivered much more than that. Music: Music is really groovy, especially the first two songs in the film. All other songs are based on the context of the scene, but are also enjoyable all together. Music director Gaurav Dagaonkar certainly deserves praise for his efforts. Final verdict: This film wants to present itself as shocking medical thriller based on anesthesia awareness, but doesn't deliver what it intends to. The protagonist doesn't put much effort into reflecting the intensity of a gloomy young man, who desperately needs help. On the other hand, the plot has few loopholes as mentioned before, however, other performances, the overall plot and the music keeps the moving going good. This one, with all its faults, is certainly a good attempt and a one-time watch.
