This is a story of a guy Suhaan Kapoor who is a flop actor acted in a flop movie but for him he is a superstar. One day his Vakil chachu calls him up and informs him about the legal notice filed against him by his X wife Piya Goyal for one time settlement of fifty lakh rupees as alimony. Suhaan has no idea what to do now because he is totally bankrupt and hardly maintains his showoff life. Suhaan and Vakil Chachu both are thinking how to deal with this situation, meanwhile an Astronaut from Nasa, Agastya Rao comes to Suhaan's house looking for Piya Goyal, where Suhaan and Vakil Chachu comes to know that Agastya Rao was the guy who was madly in love with Piya during her college days and still loves her very much. During there conversation with Agastya, Vakil Chachu comes up with the idea and tell Suhaan that if Agastya marry Piya then you don't have to pay the alimony amount. Suhaan hate so much that he agrees to Vakil Chachu's plan. They some how convince Agastya to marry Piya with the help of Suhaan. They both reaches NY where Piya stays alone away from her family. They some how manages to take a room in a hotel opposite Piya's room, from where they can keep a check on Piya. Agastya starts approaching Piya with the help of Suhaan. After a couple of attempts even Piya starts liking him as a friend and hangs out with him, as the days pass by Agastya manages to come closer to Piya with the help of Suhaan. One day some how Suhaan comes to know that he is a father of a child, which Piya had never told him. Later on Suhaan come to know that all this Piya had done for him and he realizes her sacrifice towards him. Meanwhile Agastya is getting close to Piya. He meets her parents and family, even her parents like him. There he accidentally proposes her and even Piya accepts his proposal. Agastya tells Suhaan that he is engaged to Piya. Now Suhaan wants his family back but he can't because Piya is engaged to Agastya and he can't tell Agastya about the truth because he is the one who helped him getting engaged to Piya. Agastya and Piya's marriage date is being fixed by her parents.
