JANLEVA555 is a Hindi feature film which released today i.e. on 19th October, 2012 which has been directed by Sandeep Malani. It is about snake bites and its aftereffects and regarding prevention and first aid. It spreads awareness what you should do on priority when a person becomes victim of snake bite. But has it been presented in the right manner which could impress you? Read the review ahead. Story : It is the story of two friends, Neelam (Kalpana Pandit) and Pooja (Shona Chabra). They fall in love with two guys. These four persons along with a few other friends plan to make a movie on snake-bites issues! Eventually this group sets out towards a remote area so that they could materialize their plan to make film on this issue. But mysterious incidents start occurring and a time comes when Neelam takes the form of a snake (ichchhadhari nagin). What happens after that is what makes the rest part of the story. Script : Though the story has some good message, it has been presented in an absurd manner. The plot is not for a commercial or feature film. It should have been made as a documentary film where it could have succeeded in conveying its message. But to make a feature film on this issue was an absurd idea. Such topics need very meaningful and powerful dialogues but it fails to deliver good dialogues. Performance : Performance of the actors is poor. You would laugh at their foolishness and amateurish acting. It is only Anant Nag with his light and expressive eyes, who performs well. Music : Music of the film is also below average. Songs are not impressive and break the pace of the film. Above all the songs sung mostly by newcomers which are a strain on your ears. Other Technical Aspects : Camerawork is poor. Longinus Fernandes' choreography is also not so appealing. Editing is so and so. Direction : Its director is not sure what he wants to do so he keeps pouring one by one song (nearly 15 songs) to entertain you where he fails miserably. To keep you hooked he tries to create horror effect but here too he fails. He has completely confused the audience. In the beginning of this movie the director shows a show reel which features well-known names such as Sonu Sood, Prabhu Deva, Vyjayanthimala among others. They request the audience to watch this film, since a part of the proceeds are going to victims of snake bites who need ventilators on an urgent basis. Conclusion : This is an irritating film which goes haywire and causes you annoyance instead of preaching something. The subject has been outdated and audience would find it very difficult to digest it. It seems that Kalpana Pandit has produced this film for herself because she is in every frame of this film. But sorry! She is unable to impress you at all. Verdict : Not worth watching in theatres!
