Critic Reviews
KISMET LOVE PAISA DILLI is a Hindi feature film which released today i.e. on 5th October, 2012. It has been directed by Sanjay Khanduri and produced under the banner of Invincible Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Amit Chandra, Krishan Chaudhary and Reshma Chandra are its producers. It falls in the genre of comedy-thriller, but does it really make you laugh or get you thrilled? Read its review ahead. Story : This movie is set against a Delhi backdrop which starts off with the hero Lucky trying to pick up a woman. Lokesh aka Lucky (Vivek Oberoi) is a total tharki and this film is about his life changing night. He sets his hunter eyes on Lovina (Mallika Sherawat) at a party and stalks her to the metro station. But instead of getting his prey, he gets involved in the death of a mysterious, pretty woman (Neha Dhupia) who is in white-sari (and whose role is too short). On the run from the police, Lokesh meets Lovina once again. The film shows that he is there for fun (mostly cheap fun) but things take turn and some people make him target to get a tape from him. How Lucky gets out of this mess is what the film tries to show in the remaining part of the film. Performance : Vivek Oberoi is okay as Lucky. But his performance may not be able to save the film due to weak script and poor execution. Mallika Sherawat is also not as good as her previous comical roles. Ashutosh Rana as Haryanvi character is a bit loud and does not impress you. The actor (Jha) who plays the role of delivery boy of pizza is also just average. Script : Script of the movie is not good. There are many loopholes in the screenplay. Most of the scenes are old and you have watched them earlier. The writer has tried to do a bit comedy by creating some comical scenes but most of them irritate you instead of making you laugh. Dialogues are below average. Music : Amjad Nadeem and Santokh Singh are its music directors. They have composed two songs such as 'Dhishkiyaon' and 'Appy Budday' which are okay to hear a few times but they are not so pleasant that they can last for weeks. Other songs are below average. There are several singers such as Mika Singh, Mamta Sharma, Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh, Ritu Pathak etc. but none could impress you. Direction : Direction is below average. The director has made many scenes loud and colourful, emphasizing on Bollywood's general take on Delhi. The narration of the film is also not impressive. Though it is in the genre of thriller, the director fails to keep you hooked to your seat. It seems that the director has made this movie for all the lafangas, loafers and roadside romeos out there. It also gives you the impression that its director has a fascination for bondage and gay rape because he has unashamedly copied the scene from his last film EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL in which hero (Abhay Deol) was tied up with a yellow ball in his mouth and was about to be raped by one of the villains. The director repeats that scene in this film too. It may be his favourite scene. Plus Points : Interval & The End Minus Points : Poor Script; Average Music; Weak Direction; Dull Plot Conclusion : Vivek Oberoi has been seen after a long time but it appears that he has not come back with a powerful film. Why does he choose a weak or bad script is out of question! Even though big films did not release with it (except Sridevi's ENGLISH VINGLISH) it is not going to get any benefit due to poor script and direction. Verdict : Not a film on which you should spend your hard earned money!
