The story starts with the sexy Ramona Raichand (Patralekha) losing her husband in an accident. However, she is a sex addict and decides to find solace in the arms of her f*ck buddy Sameer Saxena aka Sam (Gaurav Arora). Sam, on the other hand, is a lonely, rich and spoilt son of a wealthy business tycoon. While sex, drugs and self-harm is his way of living, Sam, who consults a psychologist for his depressive state owing to a dark past, tries to find adventure in his life. Hence, he decides to accompany his sex buddy Ramona in 'love games'.
Is everyone listening? That is the question that Vikram Bhatt's Love Games asks upfront in the form of a song. But the subsequent lines of the number give the game away: "Roses are red, violets are blue/Sex can be messy and love can be too." Oh yes, the film leaves no room for doubt on that score. And it isn't the flowers that queer the pitch; it is the standard love-and-lust potion that spoils the broth. The outright puerile meets the unabashedly sleazy in Love Games, an adult thriller about people with fast cars and faster lives that has neither pace nor tolerably interesting characters.
Cinema has evolved to the level where we are now more focused on showing the realistic view of our world and society. The movie Love Games tries to do that. Does the movie achieve it? Let's see. Love Games entails today's metro city life of high class society and what all goes on behind their luxurious walls. Ramona (Patralekha) is a rich young widow whose husband has recently died. Ramona is a sex addict and highly obsessive about Sam Saxena (Gaurav Arora), a son of a big businessman. Ramona & Sam are sex buddies. But, there's a catch. Ramona is lustful about Sam and she is short tempered and aggressive.
After watching the trailer of Love Games, the first thing that struck me was its resemblance to Hollywood teen drama Cruel Intentions. But Vikram Bhatt's latest directorial venture is nowhere close to the Reese Witherspoon starrer classic. And I am not surprised at all. Love Games is a erotic thriller and stays true to its genre. In a nutshell, Love Games is about love, lust, drugs and revenge. Oh, and you'll witness a threesome act as well, which by the way, has been shot very superficially.
When a film opens with a background voice chanting sex eight times in 20 seconds, you know what you have gotten yourself into. Then life just gets more interesting when a sultry seductress arrives announcing, "I like only three things: winning, cocaine and love games." Titled Love Games - Love Dangerously, this film is about an adventurous woman Ramona Raichand (Patralekha) who lives on the edge. Thrill is all she wants in life, and Sam (Gaurav Arora) is her toy boy. Sam is a depressed guy who likes SH (self hurt), this is the term they use in the film. The closet couple decides to take their escapades one notch higher by playing love games.
The five things you can learn from 'Love Games', Vikram Bhatt's new film, are as follows: Bollywood flicks are now all grown up and all, featuring femme fatales and f*** buddies, and threesomes. Wow. Bolly Love is no longer pure. It is all about playing the game. Said femme fatale (Patralekha), hereinafter called FF, to seen sucking lots of lip with f*** buddy (Gaurav Arora) whom we will call FB, are stalkers. Said game is all about toting new victims into the sack, one with FF, the other with FB. The first one past the past is the winnah. Double wow.
Ramona (Patralekha) is an obsessive sexual relationship with Sam (Gaurav Arora). The two of them firmly believe in the thrill of sex. The adrenaline junkies live life on the edge and canoodle like bunnies. But their life comes to a standstill when Sam falls in love with Alisha (Tara Alisha Berry). Amidst Love Games and Lust Games, power battles begin. And mind you, no one likes to lose here!
