Mitron starts with exploring the concept of arrange marriages and has Jai (Jackky Bhagnani), who is a good-for-nothing automobile engineer working at a call centre. After losing his job he gets warned from his parents to get his act together. For this, he is told to get married and the mishap starts from when he mistakenly enters the wrong house while he goes for bride-hunting.

First things first, don't get fooled by the title. The film has nothing to do with PM Modi or his politics. It's a remake of Telugu film Pelli Choopulu (2016) starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma in lead roles and revolves around a couple who want to escape the clutches of arranged marriage and want to do something unique with their lives.

It takes an ambitious girl to make a lackadaisical Gujarati boy realise that there is more to life than oversleeping and drinking with friends. The man-child, Jay (Jackky Bhagnani), believes there are three kinds of people in this world: employees, entrepreneurs and those who idle away their lives; and he gleefully belongs to the last category.

The essence of a good rom-com is the chemistry between the two protagonists. Everything else is just filler. But in a very good rom-com's, the filler is interesting as well. Director Nitin Kakkar's Mitron, who previously helmed Filmistaan (2012), is from latter category. If you are fond of watching a romantic drama with some laughs, a good cast, and a good heart, then Mitro is a delectable treat.

Jay (Jackky Bhagnani) is so laid back and carefree that he literally won't even lift a pen if he's not meant to. Avni (Kritika Kamra) is a girl who will make him do it. It's clear that the two don't have much in common besides their middle-class backgrounds and the fact that their parents are extremely bossy and want to get them married as soon as possible.
