Plot

Mod is a genuine, touching love story between 2 totally mismatched people.

Aranya (Ayesha Takia Azmi), a "full-of-life" who is twenty five year old. She lives in the sluggish and peaceful hill station, Ganga. The small town is the home of several colourful characters – Ashok Mahadeo (Raghubir Yadav), who is the whacky father of Aranya who is also the chief of the local fan club of Kishore Kumar, the sizzling Gayatri Garg (played by Tanve Azmi), "GG", her aunt, friend, and close friend. She runs a restaurant and she is also a figure of mother to Aranya, plump Gangaram (Nikhil Ratnaparkhi), who is the local salesperson who docks opinion for Aranya and Ashok's music group, the eternally present Kishore Bhakts.

The mother of Aranya had left to hunt greater dreams in the city when she was a small girl and both Aranya and her dad hope that a day would come when she would get back to them. Both the father and the daughter wait devotedly each day to see if the solitary train that crosses by their house would bring Aranya's mother back.

Aranya does a small business of a watch repair shop, a bequest handed down by her mother to hold up her father and herself. On a day a complete unfamiliar person, Andy (Rannvijay Singh Singha), reaches at her door to have his watch repaired. Rannvijay Singh Singha is clearly shy, but he keeps on visiting there day after day to have his water logged watch fixed. As payment, he gives her a hundred rupee note in the form of an origami swan. Aranya bit by bit warms up to this unusual unfamiliar person and from side to side a series of meetings and alongside all odds they fall in love. But who was this man named as Rannvijay Singh Singha aka Andy? From where did he come from? What was the motive behind his regular visits and above all what was his history?

As Aranya finds out the truth about Rannvijay Singh Singha, the movie heads to a thrilling and touching culmination in the strongest custom of great love stories.

When love happens, life takes a turn…

MOD is a Hindi feature film which released on 14th September, 2011. This film is known for Nagesh Kukunoor, who has earlier directed some well known films like HYDERABAD BLUES, IQBAL, DOR etc. Though, none of them were as successful as any other Hindi successful films. Yet HYDERABAD BLUES was a highly appreciated film. This film has been produced by Sujit Kumar Singh, Elahe Hiptoola and Nagesh Kukunoor.Story : The story revolves around Annanya (Ayesha Takia) and Andy (Rannvijay Singh). Annanya runs a watch repair shop and is the daughter of Ashok (Raghuvir Yadav). One day a man Andy comes to her shop for a watch repair. He introduces himself as Andy and gets his watch repaired from her shop. But he appears to be a mysterious person because he visits her shop regularly finding some excuses. His regular visits make both of them fall in love with each other. One day Andy tells her that he was none other than one of her old class mates.Everything seems to be going well till Annanya meets her school security guard one day. She comes to know from the security guard that her former class mate Andy had died many years back by meeting an accident. On this revelation, Annanya gets shocked. She doesn't understand if Andy was dead, who was this man pretending to be Andy and above all WHY?This is the suspense of the film which is disclosed in the later part of the film.Performance : Ayesha Takia Azami, as usual, looks good and is okay in her role similar to DOR and her other social films. She has justified her character very well. Rannvijay Singh has done well. Though Raghuvir Yadav has tried to do well, he irritates you due his confused character. Tanvi Azami is good. Anant Mahadevan and Nikhil are also okay in their roles.Script : Except the plot, everything is dull and boring. The screenplay is slow and in old style. Except the suspense element, nothing else is convincing.Music : Music composed by Tapas Relia is not good.Direction : Nagesh Kukunnor makes different types of films. His taste is different so he might have chosen this subject to make this film. It has suspense element but its neither a suspense film nor a ghost or horror film. So it fails to impress and entertain you. It is almost unbearable to tolerate its first half. Conclusion : 3 other films such as AZAAN, MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAOGE & FRIEND PINTO have released with the film MOD so it is very difficult for this film to survive at the box office. Though other 3 films are not extremely good, yet they are far better than this one. So MOD may not earn high revenue. It would have done well if it would have contained good elements. This film is not what you could have expected from the maker of HYDERABAD BLUES.Verdict : You can watch if you are Ayesha Takia die hard fan. Otherwise it's better to watch MUJHSE FRAAANDSHIP KAOGE if you have to watch only one film this week.
