The film Red Alert-The War Within is a film directed by Anant Mahadevan who has earlier directed some hit films like 'Dil Wil Pyaar Waar', 'Dil Mange More', 'Victoria No 203' etc. This film is different from his romantic films. It is a realistic film based on Naxlites. Its casts are Suniel Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Bhagyashree, Vinod Khanna, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gulshan Grover and Naseeruddin Shah. Naseeruddin Shah is in special appearance. This film is a sensible film and has been well directed. This is a film based on a true story. The story is like this: Suniel Shetty is a farm laborer. He badly needs money so that he can provide good education to his children. But circumstances force him to join Naxlites. He joins Naxlites reluctantly. Why he joins Naxlites and what happens later is the rest of the film.Suniel Shetty has performed very well in this film. In fact he is superb.Bhagyashree too is seen after a long time and has done well. Ayesha Dharkar and Seema Biswas do not get much footage to justify their talent. Ashish Vidyarthi is just like any other film. Gulshan Grover is reasonable. Vinod Khanna and Naseeruddin Shah are excellent even though they appear for a small footage. Zakir Hussain and Makarand Deshpande too are good. The direction of Anant Mahadevan is good and better than his earlier movies, even though it is not a romantic or suspense film. Without taking anyone's side he has tried to narrate the problems of Naxlites and the system. Sameera Reddy, though has chosen to do unglamorous role, looks very nice and suits the role. Her performance is good. In this film even the ladies are shown taking part in violence which in reality takes place at some places. Music and cinematography are also okay. It is said that some dialogues are original dialogues of naxlites. Though this film lacks commercial value due to lack of masala, it is a nice film and if you want to know more and reality of Naxlites, you need to watch this film. Happy ending of the film will be a plus point of the film and will earn revenue to some extent.
