Khiladi 786 Review

Rating: 2.5/5

One Line Review:The 'Khiladi' comeback is not as much expected and not so interesting.

Positive points: Music; performance by Himesh Reshammiya; funny dialogues; some action sequences.

Negative Points: Unimpressive direction; dull location.

Plot:Mansukh (Himesh Reshammiya) is the son of a marriage fixer and wants to make his own mark in the business. Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar (Mithun Chakraborty) a feared don hires Mansukh to look for a good match for his sister Indu (Asin). Now Mansukh chooses a Punjabi guy named Bahattar Singh (Akshay Kumar), who helps the cops nab criminals by posing himself as a policeman.

However, there is a bit of problem. Mansukh considers Bahattar Singh to be a real policeman and requests Tatya to pretend as a policeman himself, so that his reputation of being a don does not ruin his sister's marriage plans. Now Indu likes someone else and tries her best to get away from Bahattar, who has already started to like her. This all leads to errors and attempts by both the parties to maintain their image of respectability before the other and leads total comic and hilarious series of events.

Performance:Himesh Reshammiya's performance has improved a lot since his last film and succeeds to impress the audiences, with his role of a typical Gujarati guy. While the performance of Akshay has been all the same as in his other films, but still is entertaining as he balances his act between a good action and humor. Mithun Chakraborty's performance is with no further doubt impressive since his dialogue delivery and humor are amazing. Asin's performance as a Maharashtrian girl is just above average and satisfactory. Supporting actors like Mukesh Rishi, Johnny Lever and Raj Babbar have acted their parts satisfactorily.

Direction And Other Aspects:The film is a debut direction venture of Ashish R Mohan and is not really so impressive. Moreover, the location chosen for the film is also very dull. The director could have made the actors put their best into it. Cinematography fails to make a mark. Moreover, the action sequences are not as much exciting as one would expect them to be in a 'Khiladi' series.

Music:The music is quite fabulous with catchy tunes. Songs like 'Balma' and 'Hookah bar' already gained popularity amongst people and are an added advantage in the overall judgment of the film.

Verdict:The film is surely a good commercial entertainer, but you won't find anything really new and amazing. So, if you are a die-hard Akshay Kumar fan, only then the film would be worth a watch for you.
