Aamir Khan to come up with Satyamev Jayate Water Cup second edition

Superstar Aamir Khan has set up Paani Foundation that works towards water conservation and in its first edition, this initiative was implemented in 3 tehsils and now, Aamir Khan wishes to extend the programme of watershed management to 30 tehsils in Maharashtra.

Aamir Khan to come up with Satyamev Jayate Water Cup second edition

Different villages participate in the Cup competition and attempt to do maximum water conservation. The first edition of the competition took place from April 20 to June 5 this year and 116 participants and water storage was done for around 13,68,000 litres of water.

Aamir interacted with 700 volunteers of Bharatiya Jain Sanghtana, which will be a part of Paani Foundation's water conservation initiative. Talking about the first edition of the competition, Aamir said "The first edition of water cup was a pilot project and with its success, we now want to extend the watershed management programme to 30 more talukas in Maharashtra to make the villages water-sufficient with people's participation,"

He further added "Since, we are scaling up our battle against drought in the second edition with an aim to take the initiative to 30 tehsils, it will be a challenge for us as we will have to increase our expertise. We will have to scale up on our training facilities so that the quality of knowledge remains the same,"

Aamir aims at saving 100 percent water with the help of public participation with this noble initiative.
