Abhay Deol to star in 'Baaton Baaton Mein' remake
B-Town star Abhay Deol will star in the remake of 1979 classic by Basu Chatterjee, 'Baaton Baaton Mein'. Yami Gautam will be essaying the female lead in the film.

The 1979 classic 'Baaton Baaton Mein' by Basu Chatterjee is soon going to be enlivened on the silver screen with its soon-to-arrive remake. The original magnum opus featured Amol Palekar and Tina Munim in the lead roles. The remake will be helmed by Shivam Nair , reportedly.
Going by the latest news update, Abhay Deol will be featuring in the remake of 'Baaton Baaton Mein'. This is the second time the director Shivam will be working with Abhay, as before this, the duo worked together in 2006 release ' Ahista Ahista ' starring Soha Ali Khan as the female lead. Many filmmakers see resemblance between Amol Palekar and Abhay Deol , hence, the actor will be playing the male lead in the film, while the female lead will be essayed by Yami Gautam . Yami will be portraying the similar role, which was played by Tina Munim in the predecessor. The film will be produced by Aditya Bhatia . The producer stated that "Yes, we're doing a remake of Baaton Baaton Mein. The details are now being worked out. We're still in the process of firming everything in."
The other classic work of Basu Chatterjee that had been remade on the celluloid is ' Chitchor ' as ' Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon '. Also, the remake of ' Shaukeen ' and ' Lakhon Ki Baat ' are in the pipeline.
