After Shah Rukh, now Karan Johar to venture into digital space with Netflix?
The show will be a female-centric and will be headed by Shakun Batra of the Kapoor & Sons fame.
A few weeks ago, Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment joined hands with Netflix India for producing India’s original shows. And now, seems like following the footsteps of his best friend, Karan Johar has also decided to venture into the digital space. If the sources are to be believed, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has reportedly locked in a deal with Netflix. Their first female-centric show will be headed by Shakun Batra who helmed Kapoor & Sons. From what our sources say, the makers are currently in the casting zone and have even approached a big A-list actress for the show. The talks are still on-going and she will reportedly revert soon to the Dharma Productions. They are currently doing the paperwork with the streaming service.
Apart from this, Karan’s Dharma Productions have a number of feature films lined up to release in the coming two years. The first film under DP is Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi, which will be helmed by Meghna Gulzar and then it has Tarun Mansukhani’s Drive, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez. Apart from these films, no major outing is yet declared for 2018 but in 2019, DP will come with Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari and Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra.
