We all can see that Akshay Kumar is on the spree of doing social message driven movies. His last two films, Pad Man and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha , were made on the social issues and received well by the masses. But projects like this keep coming to Akshay as he has done every role with the utmost best of his capability. One such project has been approached to the actor but he has said NO this time. We are talking about Ekta Kapoor ’s film on the life of Dr. Verghese Kurien (The Milkman Of India and Father Of White Revolution), which will be helmed by Shree Narayan Singh , but the actor will not be doing this film.

A source in the know informs, “The film’s producer Ekta and director Shree Narayan presumed Akshay would say yes to this project because he has always shared a cordial relation with Ekta, has worked well with Shree Narayan in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and likes the idea of playing noble inspiring real-life characters.”

So why did Akshay say no to this biopic? “Because Shyam Benegal has already made a classic: Manthan on Kurien’s milk revolution. Akshay feels there is nothing more he can add to the biopic,” says the source.

Well, we think Akshay made a wise decision. Manthan, which came out in 1976, was a raging successful movie and Benegal did cover almost all the major events from Dr. Kurien’s life and his mission.

Though Khiladi Kumar has left this project, he has his kitty full for the next two years and will be next seen Reema Kagti ’s period drama, Gold .
