Alia Bhatt signed for a film based on Kashmir conflict!

If there is any Bollywood starlet that made her career vibrant in terms of choices of films and exhibits her talent while making a brand out of it, is Alia Bhatt ! In a short career span, she fairly balanced the kind of films she did. And now to make her share for doing a substance oriented role, Alia Bhatt signed an untitled film which would be directed by Meghna Gulzar , who won the audience, critics and box office with her surprise hit Talwar.

If resources are to believed, this film would be based on Kashmir conflict and be considering Meghna Gulzar ’s track record it would be pretty hard hitting, which could possibly be garnering some controversies. The film would be based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat, where a Kashmiri woman married to an Army officer across the border, which provides Indian intelligence with invaluable information during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. As per the news suggests it would be a period drama and, for the male lead Masaan fame Vicky Kaushal, will be playing Alia’s husband. Although Alia also had second thoughts about the role but she finally gave a nod.

About Alia Bhatt ’s track record, it also suggests she took challenges to play characters, so be it her role in Highway, Udta Panjab! Even sensitive yet complicated character in Dear Zindagi! But for this role, she also needs to know more than she knows about Kashmir and its complications, before making any move.
