Alia turns investor, picks up a minority stake in a fashion-tech startup!
Alia Bhatt becomes the latest Bollywood celebrity to turn investor, the 24-year-old picks up a minority stake in a fashion-tech startup ‘StyleCracker’.
Bollywood celebs wisely investing their money in one venture or the other is not a new phenomenon. There is a long list of celebrities who have invested millions in a variety of businesses and earning huge. Following the lead of some big names, actress Alia Bhatt has become the latest Bollywood celebrity to turn investor. The actress picked up a minority stake in a fashion-tech startup ‘StyleCracker’. StyleCracker is a new company that offers customers personalized fashion boxes curated by celebrity stylists. Alia invested in the company as part of pre-Series A funding.
Talking about the same, Alia told to a leading daily, “This has come from the heart and not mind. I am not actively looking for investments, but Archana has been my stylist for many years and when I came to know about StyleCracker, it seemed like a very logical move.”
Alia being the part investor will have a small share of the stake, while, company founders Dhimaan Shah, a former investment banker, and Archana Walavalkar, former fashion editor, Vogue, will jointly own 65% stake in StyleCracker.
While the young actress is busy making some investments and signing some big endorsements, we will get to see her on big screens in Meghna Gulzar’s period thriller ‘Raazi’ in May next year opposite Vicky Kaushal.
