Anurag Kashyap to be honored at Cannes

Veteran filmmaker Anurag Kashyap will be honored with the crest of 'Knight Of The Orders Of Arts And Letters' by the French Government at Cannes Film Festival on 20th May.

Veteran director Anurag Kashyap is reported to be honored by the French Government at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The ace director will be given a tribute of 'Knight Of The Order Of Arts And Letters' on 20th May at Cannes.

The reports say that, in order to honor the Indian film Industry, French Culture Minister Aurelie Filippetti will bestow the honor of 'Chevalier dans l'ordre des Arts et Lettres' (Knight Of The Order Of Arts And Letters) to famous producer-director Anurag Kashyap at an event during the Cannes Film Festival on 20th May 2013.

The French Ambassador to India Francois Richier said that giving the crest of 'Knight Of The Orders Of Arts And Letters' to Anurag Kashyap , is a appreciation of Kashyap's artistic talent and his career. It is also an appreciation for his noteworthy efforts to promote Indian cinema on the international level.

Kashyap's film ' Ugly ' will be screened at Cannes this year. Previously his work of art, the crime saga ' Gangs Of Wasseypur ' was also screened at Cannes. Kashyap's film was and will be screened at Cannes Directors' Fortnight section. His short film from the movie ' Bombay Talkies ' will also have a gala screening at the same esteemed film festival. His other production ventures 'Lunch Box' and ' Monsoon Shootout ' are also selected at Cannes.

It is reported that India is the guest country at the 66th Cannes Film Festival as Indian Cinema has completed its 100 years in 2013.
