Apart from look test, here’s what Deepika did to prepare for Padmavati!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Padmavati has been a lot in news lately for all the controversies around it. However, Bhansali released a video in which he once again clears the air and pushes aside the rumors. The film team including the lead stars Deepika Padukone , Shahid Kapoor , and Ranveer Singh have made the film with a lot of effort, responsibility, and sincerity. The actors and behind the camera crew have taken a lot of efforts to make the film. Deepika Padukone came out and spoke about how challenging the film has been for them on several occasions. In a recent media interaction, the actress discussed her preparation for the role of the Queen.

Talking out the preparations for the film, Deepika said, “I did mental and emotional preparation apart from the look-tests. Dialect, because the dialect in this film is very very different. But, at the same time it’s a Hindi film, so how do you find a balance to convince people that I play the role of a Rajput. But, I think primarily it’s more mental and emotional preparation.”

Deepika said in a statement that she is extremely nervous about the film. She said, “It's been a while since I have been so nervous. I can't remember the time I was so nervous. I think it is the function of the fact that in all the movies that I've done, I feel there is something (different) about this one. And it is not from the heart, it is not from the head, it is from the gut... It is coming from a completely different place.”

In the film, Deepika Padukone plays the title role of Queen Padmini, Shahid Kapoor plays Raja Ratan Singh while Ranveer Singh essays Alauddin Khilji. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions, Padmavati is slated to release on 1st December 2017.
