Big B, Kangana, Bhansali win it big at the 63rd National Film Awards

Information and Broadcasting Ministry announced the winners of the 63rd National Film Awards today. Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan received the best actor award for Piku while Kangana Ranaut was graced with the best actress award for her blockbuster film Tanu Weds Manu returns.

Eminent filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali won Best Director award for his period drama Bajirao Mastani and S.S Rajamouli’s Baahubali received the Best film award.

Bollywood is all praise for the winners on social media platforms. Congratulatory messages are flowing in for the winners from all their fans and friends along with Bollywood mates.

A leading daily got in touch with Big B. The veteran star express his gratitude saying: “Thank you. Gracious of you. Humbled. Aneek dhanyavad. Abhaar.”

Here is what Kangana said after wining the prestigious award: “It is a huge recognition to win the National Award. You get it from the President of India and it is a big moment for me. There no TRPs, there is no façade, there is nothing to gain from anyone, it is just a moment where the person is made to feel deserving.

The actress added, "You don’t have to dance on stage or please anyone, the award is from the Government of India and there is a lot of respect and prestige attached to it. You can’t buy respect, you have to earn it. Unlike other awards where you have to be part of Bollywood royalty, the National Awards are given to anyone who is deserving. It doesn’t matter what your last name is or whey are friends with.”
