Bollywood stars who were badly stuck in Mumbai rains!
Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, R. Madhavan among other stars got stuck in Mumbai rains yesterday!
Along with commoners, Bollywood celebrities also suffered the Mumbai rains wrath yesterday. Thousands of people were stuck yesterday amidst traffic, clotted water, and immovable trains! Mumbaikars are known for their ever helpful spirit and help was made available instantly by several kind souls. Despite the unfavorable situation, commoners helped each other and many opened their doors and hearts to extend help. Among this chaos, our Bollywood stars who were out for work also witnessed the situation first hand let along the images and videos on the web.
Actress Sonam Kapoor updated on her Instagram stories that she was stuck midst traffic and rains for about an hour before she reached home safely. She even shared a short video of the heavy rains from her car. Another actor who suffered badly was Neil Nitin Mukesh, unfortunately he had to get stuck in traffic for more than four hours. He explained his situation with a series of tweets. He wrote:
“Driving in the sea #mumbairains2017”
Neil added, “I have no choice but to spend the night in my Andheri home, alone, my family continues to celebrate Ganesh utsav in town GANPATI BAPPA MORYA”
He further updated, “So, unfortunately, I had to head back towards my town home. And yes stuck in this terrible traffic. It's been 4 hrs and counting.”
Actor R. Madhavan’s car broke down due to excess water. He posted a video on Instagram, He wrote: “My silly car down.. had to bail and wade home in thigh deep water.. excitement and frustration... ”
Actor Anupam Kher also was stuck in water and had been rescued by his friend. He tweeted about the incident and also praised the city for being so helpful at this time of need. He said no other country in the world is as Mumbai when it comes to human bonding and we cannot agree more! Check out Anupam Kher’s tweet, he wrote:
He further wrote: “There is no financial capital of any country like Mumbai which is treated so shabbily & irresponsibly by the authorities years after years.”
The veteran actor added, “There is NO city in the world like #Mumbai when it comes to Human Bonding & Resilience at the time of crises. We see that again & again.”
Actress Huma Qureshi was also stuck in traffic while the sky in Mumbai was pouring badly. But, the actress looked at the positive side of things, she wrote on Twitter: “Was stuck for 3 hours on the highway ..saw so many people help each other out !! that's my #Mumbai hope everyone is safe .. now I'm off.”
Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was rescued from a drastic situation. He shared a picture and wrote: "We were pulled out of our car just in time by generous strangers." ( Khar West, Mumbai. 4:30 pm ).
All these updates were horrifying yet people displayed a heroic spirit. Almost every actor including Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Amitabh Bachchan and many others extended help, shared helpline numbers and urged citizens to stay safe.
