Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is making a splash on the international horizon with her Hollywood debut flick xXx3: Return Of Xander Cage. The actress has a massive fan following in the nation and now, her international fan base is also increasing. Deepika admitted that she suffered from depression some years ago and to help those with similar mental problems, the actress commenced a foundation, Live Love Laugh.
Deepika was recently in Delhi, to launch 'Dobara Poocho', national public awareness campaign regarding mental health. While speaking at this press conference event, Deepika suddenly broke down when she started talking about depression as she realized her experience about it. The actress revealed "I remember when about two years ago when my parents and sister were visiting me in Mumbai and were packing their bags to leave. I remember I was sitting on the bed and curled up and my mother said to me, ‘Are you OK?’ I said yeah, I am fine. She continued and said, ‘Is it work?’, again I said no, I am fine. She continued to ask me two of three times and I could feel myself choking and I broke down.”
She continued to speak in teary voice and thanked her parents for their support during her problem of depression. Deepika said "I want to say to my mother that if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here today. So thank you for helping me through this, my sister, my father, my friends and my family for helping me through this.”, as per the report.
The campaign, 'Dobara Poocho' intends to break stigma around the mental health problems and begin with conversation about it.
