'Dhoom 3' rakes in Rs 36 Crore on Opening Day!

A monumental start is with what the pacy-thriller ' Dhoom 3 ' commenced its opening day. The first day of ' Dhoom 3 ' opened up with the housefull cinema halls and long queues at the ticket window. The key players in the film were Aamir Khan , Katrina Kaif , Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra and lots and lots of action stuff on superbikes. The film was expected to collect up to 33.15 crore nett, but the actual figures exceeded the expectations.

Going by the latest reports, ' Dhoom 3 ' earned whopping 36 crore at the domestic box office! The film was still counting the heavy figures. From Hindi shows of the film, it collected 32 crore nett and as it was released in Telugu and Tamil as well, the movie garnered 4 crore nett from those shows, thereby making the total first day domestic box office collection of 36 crore. Although this YRF release did not hit the screens on any holiday, it managed to mint mammoth response from the viewers and it also bagged positive reviews from the critics. Also, the word-of-mouth publicity worked in favour of the film. By covering such huge figures, ' Dhoom 3 ' has exceeded the figures incurred on the opening day by the recent super hit flicks like ' Chennai Express ', which were 33 crore approx and ' Krrish 3 ' that collected around 25 crore on first Friday. ' Dhoom 3 ' also received thumbs up from the Bollywood stars and some celebs even expressed their views on Twitter.

It seems ' Dhoom 3 ' will be entering the elite club of 100 crore by the first weekend of its release itself!
