Finally, Anurag Basu spoke about the failure of Jagga Jasoos & its sequel!
Fans were curious to know about the possibility of a sequel for Jagga Jasoos, which tanked at the box office!

Jagga Jasoos was indeed one the most anticipated films of the year and received mix reviews from critics and audience followed by failure at the box office! Some liked it, appreciated and others just disliked it, but most of those audiences who saw it till the climax were amazed to find Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the character of sadistic evil mind in the film which was revealed just before credits started rolling! And since Jagga Jasoos premiered on TV on 30th September, everyone was intrigued to know whether there will be a sequel to it or not!
When the same question to the director of the film, Anurag Basu , he did express his thoughts on it but an undertone of sadness in his voice, ‘I have 60 percent of the [sequel] story ready. Nawazuddin [Siddiqui] also knows about it and would love to be a part of it. But Disney needs to take a call if they want to make the film. A lot of courage and conviction is required on the part of the director and the producer to make a sequel to a film that hasn’t done well. It has never happened in India, though such instances aren’t new in the West.’
Anurag even added, ‘I wish I were rich enough to make the sequel with all my money, but I can’t!’ He even told about what was Ranbir Kapoor ’s reaction Jagga Jasoos ’ failure, ‘Ranbir was always proud of the product and happy with what we made. He had been positive all throughout. Though I’ve never spoken to him about the sequel, I’m sure he won’t say no if at all it’s made.’
