Shraddha Kapoor’s much-awaited film Haseena Parkar has suffered a lot of delays due to technical, creative and other reasons. The film was scheduled to release on August 18 but director Apoorva Lakhia updated on social media on August 1 that their film has been postponed to a later date. And now, the director has informed the fans that the upcoming movie has a brand new release date of the film which is September 22, 2017!

The director took to Twitter and wrote: “Book your time with 'Aapa' @ShraddhaKapoor #HaseenaParkar releases on September 22. @SiddhanthKapoor @AnkBhatia.”

In a media statement, the director was quoted that he delayed his ambitious project Haseena Parkar to avoid the clash and clutter of films releasing in August. But, now since the new date is September 22, it has invited itself another clash. Yes, on the same date Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi is releasing, so now, the two films will have to face off at the box-office.

Talking about the change in the date last time(August 18), director Apoorva Lakhia said in a media statement, “There is no point in trying to get into the current clutter of releases. We all can see what is happening to all the films that are coming out. If we came on 18 August we would have Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Katha behind us. Akshay’s film has tax exemption. Why should we do something as suicidal as to release our film at a time when the competition is not only tough but it is impossible to cope with?” And, the director promised to soon update about the new release date which he did today!

Haseena Parkar is a biopic based on the life of Haseena, the sister of the infamous don Dawood Ibrahim. She managed his entire underworld business in Mumbai. The movie also stars Siddhanth Kapoor, Rajesh Tailang, Satendra Bagasi, Ankur Bhatia and Charanpreet Singh.
