Hindi remake of Telugu film 'Pelli Choopulu' to star Jackky Bhagnani!
The remake will also mark the Bollywood debut of renowned TV actress, Kritika Kamra.
Actor Jackky Bhagnani, who was last seen in the short film called Carbon with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been cast to play the male lead in the Hindi remake of National Award winning Telugu film Pelli Choopulu. The remake is set against the backdrop of Gujarat and Jackky has been shooting in Ahmedabad for the project.
To be produced by Phantom Films, the yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Nitin Kakkar who rose to fame after directing the critically acclaimed film, Filmistaan. "I have made some changes in the original script so that the Hindi film audience can connect with it," Kakkar said in a statement.
The original film Pelli Choopulu released in 2016 and featured Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma. It received a positive response from critics and was termed a hit by the end of its box office run. Later, it went on to win two National Film Awards.
The remake will also mark the Bollywood debut of renowned TV actress, Kritika Kamra.
