Jacqueline Fernandez’s Hindi adaptation of The Girl On The Train isn’t happening at the moment
To be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the untitled project was expected to be bankrolled by Sujoy Ghosh.
A couple of months back, we had published a story stating that Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez is all set to star in the Hindi adaptation of the popular book, The Girl On The Train. The film was said to be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. However, we have not heard about any development on the project ever since. And the latest we hear that the venture has been put on the backburner.
“The makers wanted to finalise the script and approach other actors for different roles in the thriller. But none of this has happened so far. All that we know is Jacqueline is on board,” reveals a source.
Spilling some more beans, another source says, “The makers haven’t been able to find any financiers who are willing to invest in the movie, which is why it’s stuck. There’s no clarity on whether this film has been put on hold or has been shelved. But as of now, it’s definitely not happening.”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline is busy with Race 3, also starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Daisy Shah among others. After wrapping up Race 3, she will join forces with Salman Khan once again for Kick 2.
