Janhvi Kapoor cast to be Ranveer Singh's heroine in Simmba?
Reportedly, the makers will lengthen the female lead's character in the movie to give Janhvi more screen space.
According to reports, filmmaker Karan Johar, who is co-producing the upcoming actioner, Simmba, has signed newcomer Janhvi Kapoor to play the female lead in it. Janhvi is making her comeback with Karan's production, Dhadak, which is currently being shot across various locations in Rajasthan. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba is a remake of the hit South Indian film, Temper. In its Bollywood remake, Ranveer Singh is playing the lead role which was originally played by NTR in the original film.
Some reports claim that initially, veteran actress Sridevi was not convinced about her daughter, Janhvi, playing the lead in the movie because the original film had a very limited role for the leading lady. However, when Karan Johar himself convinced the veteran actress that Jhanvi's screen time will be extended in the Hindi remake, Sridevi allowed her daughter to star in the movie.
Simmba is expected to mount floors soon. The film is slated to release on 28th December 2018.
