And it’s a wrap for Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak!
The film, bankrolled by Dharma Productions, mounted the shooting floor on 1st December 2017.
Karan Johar’s upcoming production Dhadak, which marks the acting debut of late actress Sridevi’s elder daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, alongside Ishaan Khattar, has been wrapped up. The film was being helmed by Shashank Khaitan who has previously delivered blockbuster like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Dhadak went on the floor on 1st December 2017 in Udaipur and completed its shoot on 17th April.
Producer Karan Johar took to Twitter to announce the completion of the film. “The warmest trio at @DharmaMovies !! @ShashankKhaitan is truly the strongest guide...mentor...friend And above all director! Janhvi and Ishaan are truly the heartbeat of #Dhadak,” his tweet read.
Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Zee Studios, Dhadak is one of the most awaited films of the year for various reasons. First, it is going to be the debut vehicle of Janhvi Kapoor. Second, the movie is an official remake of the Marathi blockbuster film Sairat, which set the box office on fire upon its release in 2016. The original film told the story of inter-caste love and honour killing and the Hindi remake also revolves around the same theme.
Dhadak is scheduled to release on 20th July 2018.
