The filmmaker Karan Johar has received special official invitation to attend the grand opening ceremony of London Olympics, to be held from July 27 -August 12. He is really excited about the invitation and is looking ahead to attending the event with a lot of zeal and excitement.

KJo as Karan Johar is fondly called, is the official ambassador for Visit Britain and perhaps is the only other Indian apart from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to have received an official invitation.

As a matter of protocol, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been invited by his British counterpart David Cameron whereas KJo's invitation has come from the Visit Britain authorities. So Karan Johar will catch the Olympics opening ceremony in a special box reserved for the who's who of the world.

Though, the filmmaker is extremely busy with the shooting of his upcoming film ' Student Of The Year ', he says he feels honoured to have been invited for the event and will surely attend it. He was quoted saying, "Surely it gives me a great feeling. It will be exciting to witness such a breathtaking event from close quarters."

Karan Johar will leave for London on July 26 and will return in a couple of days to re-start shooting for his film.
