These days B-Town diva Kareena Kapoor is feeling happy for a reason. It's for the changing the way women are portrayed in Indian cinema. Kareena is glad to see Bollywood directors offering more meaningful and intellectual roles to the actresses in the Hindi cinema industry. The actress is content to see women characters actually performing in the movie rather than being just the wallflowers in male-dominated industry.

Bollywood has started depicting women in a very affirmative way. Now, more and more new directors and writers are emerging in Bollywood and in their work, they don't project women as objects of desire, as Kareena says.

Most of the Indian women follow subservient lives and that's what is mirrored in Bollywood movies. The character of women is sketched in the movie mostly by observing Indian women lives and behavior. Most of the time, Hindi cinema revolves around male protagonist and female lead's performance goes unnoticed. Kareena expressed her views with the people in an award function.

Kareena Kapoor is ruling over the big screen in 50 plus films since the year 2000, from when she became a part of Bollywood.
