Kareena Kapoor Khan gives 'Chattisgarh jewels' award to 31 meritorious students

The chief minister Dr. Raman Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan presented 'Chattisgarh jewels' award to 31 meritorious students and 5 teachers of 36 schools.

B-Town diva Kareena Kapoor Khan , who is the brand ambassador of UNICEF, presented 'Chattisgarh jewels' award to 31 meritorious students and 5 teachers of 36 high-quality schools. The chief minister Raman Singh and Kareena presented this award at the Child Rights Protection week's concluding ceremony. The actress graced the event as a special guest.

Kareena spoke at this event by saying that "It is a challenge to provide quality education to kids. It is heartening to note that several programmes are being carried on for a girl child in Chattisgarh and other region." The chief minister Dr. Raman Singh assured that the state government is determined to elevate girl child's status and also the status of girls in the society. He further added that child rights protection is the duty of the authorities and it's also a duty of society. Singh launched 'CG Edutrek', a web application that can be used to monitor students and teachers in school. The chief minister Singh added that for a girl child, education is free from standard one to 12 and girls from poor families can also get free education of higher studies like B.A., B.Sc., engineering and medical.
