Sonakshi has said it to be the most difficult and best role of her career till date. For this role she had to step into the world of Kolkata in 1950's. Thus her character, looks, performance etc have to appear of that era of which she knew nothing. Many a times Sonakshi questioned herself that why was she doing this? She shares. But after watching the trailer she was convinced that her hard work had paid. She felt as if she were watching another actress from that era on screen. Vikramaditya Motwane has transformed her, according to the star kid.
She along with co-star Ranveer Singh launched the first look of the movie which showed a black and white image of the two in a Taxi.
