Right after the widespread success of her debut film Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), Bhumi Pednekar was roped in for a film called Manmarziyan, opposite Vicky Kaushal. However, the project could not take off on time and it was eventually shelved by the makers. But now, reports are coming in that Anurag Kashyap is reviving the project which will be produced by Aanand L Rai. Surprisingly, Bhumi, who was the original choice for the film, will not be part of the project anymore as makers have, reportedly, replaced her with Taapsee Pannu.
According to reports, Taapsee has yet not decided whether or not she should do the film. But it is certain that she has been approached to play the female lead in it. The actress is currently in Lucknow and might take a final call after returning to Mumbai.
Taapsee Pannu entered Bollywood with David Dhawan’s comic-caper Chashme Baddoor (2013). Since then, she has been part of many notable films, but it was the runaway success of Pink (2016) which cemented her position as one of the leading ladies in the Hindi film industry. She recently had another blockbuster in the form of Judwaa 2 (2017), also starring Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. She will next be seen in a biopic on Sandeep Singh.
