Marathi cinema has much better content than Hindi cinema, says Akshay Kumar!
Khiladi Kumar, who has remade 2 Marathi films, feels Marathi cinema has much better content than Hindi cinema.
Be it from Bollywood or the regional cinema, Akshay Kumar has been supportive of the movies of all the languages. Kumar has remade many Southern and Marathi films and has given credits to the original makers. The actor has again lent his support to the Marathi movie, ‘Deva’, which wasn’t getting enough screens because of the clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. ‘Deva’ was reportedly not able to get the prime time shows in theatres, but after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) wrote to the multiplex and theatre owners, around 295 screens were given to the film. Talking to leading daily, Akshay said, "I think in every theatre one or two screens are given to Deva. According to me, the kind of content that Marathi cinema has is much better than Hindi cinema. I have seen their films; I have also remade two Marathi films."
The 50-year-old actor also shared his views on ‘Deva’ and wished luck to the team on Twitter, his caption read, "This is a very special shout out for @pramodfilmsnew, my Godfather in the industry... don't forget to catch their film ‘Deva - Ek Atrangi’ releasing on Dec 22 at a theatre near you @devathefilm.”
On the work front, Akshay Kumar is coming with ‘Padman’ on 26th January, also starring Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. The film is helmed by R Balki.
