Neil is delighted to once again work with Bhandarkar after the film Jail (2009) and tags it as a challenging role. This venture is about a life of a poetess, played by Kirti Kulhari, who starts as a stammering girl without confidence and later she gets courage to rebel against the system. The filmmaker Bhandarkar is doing an extensive research on this and he recently read Vinod Mehta's book on the life of Sanjay Gandhi. Apart from this, Madhur also met some activists and veteran journalists, who know the minute details of that period.

Talking about it, Bhandarkar said "It's a fictionalised tale inspired by events that unfolded between 1975 and 1977." The movie Indu Sarkar will start rolling in December in Karjat and Delhi will be recreated here.
