Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan will be coming together for the second time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next production. The film is adapted from S Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ and is reportedly based on the life and times of Ashraf Khan, also known as Sapna Didi. It was reported that the film will be produced by Bhardwaj and Honey Trehan would direct it. But recently it was clarified by Bhardwaj himself that now he will be directing the film. Speaking to a leading daily, he said, "Due to different artistic visions of the film, Honey (Trehan) and I jointly came to the decision that it would be best if I took over as director and saw it through to the end."
Honey Trehan, who is a casting and assistant director, has worked with Bhardwaj in films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kaminey’ and was all set to direct his debut film, but things didn’t work out and he left the director’s seat. In a statement, Trehan said, "Owing to our differences in creative understanding, we have mutually and amicably decided that it would be best for our film if Vishal sir took over as Director,"
Well, when everything is clear now, the film will be awaited to see Deepika collaborating for the first time with director Bhardwaj.
