Deepika Padukone

A Glam doll personified , the style icon of today's young girls and a perfect example of beauty with brains, Deepika Padukone is a Konkani girl born to the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone on 5th January 1986. Her mother's name is Ujjala Padukone who works as a travel agent. Deepika is the elder sister of Anisha, the younger daughter of Padukone duo.

The dimpled beauty was born in Denmark's Copenhagen while her father was on practice session in Denmark. Her family later moved to Bengaluru when the bubbly girl was eleven months old. Deepika's father Prakash Padukone had represented India for Badminton at the international level. Even Deepika also was a state level player of Badminton when she was in school. Deepika completed her schooling from Sophia High School in Bengaluru and attended the Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru for pre-university studies.

As the dimpled beauty was not interested in the professional sports as her career, she moved to pursue modeling as her hobby and later she took the modeling seriously as her career. Many brands like Liril, Close-Up and Limca chose her to act in their commercial advertisements. She was an official spokesperson for the Jewels of India and Maybelline , a range of beauty products. She also got a rare chance to appear in 2006 Kingfisher Swimsuit Calender.

The year of 2006 proved to be lucky for the leggy lass as she made a debut in the film industry through the Kannada film named 'Aishwarya'. Later in 2007 she got a chance to play a lead role in Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om' opposite Shah Rukh Khan which was a blockbuster at the box office.

She never looked back since then. Her performance in the films like 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', 'Chandni Chowk To China', 'Love Aaj Kal', 'Karthik Calling Karthik', 'Break Ke Baad', 'Aarakshan', 'Cocktail' and 'Desi Boyz' was praised by the film critics and her fan following. She got few awards and nominations for some of these films. She has also made guest appearances in many films. Her recent film 'Race 2' by Abbas-Mustan with co-actors like John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan,Jacqueline Fernandez,Amisha Patel and Anil Kapoor was a huge hit at the box office.

Deepika is famous for her style and Bindass attitude, she openly dated famous actor Ranbir Kapoor and got his initials tattooed on her body. Later they broke off and then she said to be dating liquor king Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth. They also said to be broken off in 2012.

Deepika is a talented actress , a very good dancer and very passionate about her work. She wants to win audience's hearts with her hard work and dedication.
